		<description><![CDATA[Interesting idea - I looked at something similar once using COMET (one of the fancier names for event-driven / push AJAX) and a custom socket handler in PHP - instead of letting apache run for a long time, you simply fork a PHP process that does just that. 

Mind you, PHP is still the wrong tool for that particular job :)]]></description>
